Are
you upset little friend?
Have you been lying awake? Well, don't worry...I'm here. The flood
waters will recede, the famine will end, the sun
will shine tomorrow, and I will always be here to
take care of you."
Charlie Brown
On August 29, 2005,
Hurricane Katrina hit the United States Gulf Coast,
taking many lives and causing billions of dollars in
damages. The city of New Orleans might have been
largely spared were it not for the levee failures
that followed. Unfortunately, New Orleans was dealt
a near-fatal blow and the U.S. was faced with the
greatest national disaster of its history – the
costliest and most destructive hurricane ever, as
well as the largest pet disaster in history.
